Though i'm not sure i'm a fan of the handwritten text the placement to create the shape of the state is a very nice representation. The black and white makes a bold statement with the red text standing out to pronounce the cause for the 20th annual hunger banquet. It leads the eye down the page with the state pointing down to the information.
